When Did I Turn Into My Mother??

Okay over the many years of being on this earth and driving in a car with my Mother I was forced to listen to talk radio... that's right ... Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. And at 1:00 pm it was Dr. Laura... to me she was by far the most annoying one... with her know it all tone, her cutting callers off and her all around abrasive attitude. But when I went to Washington, DC to intern at the Republican National Committee my supervisor made me listen to the conservative "guys." After a month or so I didn't mind it so much, I started to even enjoy it (yep slowly turning into my Mom) and those were the days when Tony Snow was on the air (still my favorite radio host hands down I sure do miss him). So I heard a lot of ...the stop Hillary Express, with half his brain tied behind his back and sorry just another rant from a recovered alcoholic. To this day I listen to talk radio... and consider it a good day if I've spent even a little while listening to the "guys."
Ok, so now to my point ... it all started about two months ago when I was station suffering in the car on my home when I stumbled upon a wise woman giving good advice to some stupid woman who didn't know how to make her marriage better when it was very obvious what the caller should be doing... and right when I was starting to get into the program... it dawned on my... I'm listening to Dr. Laura!! What.. I thought to myself I have never listened to her voluntarily before... but there I was enjoying it all. So, I guess listening to Dr. Laura... must come with age... and maybe I am just turning into my mother, which isn't a bad thing at all, because I love her to death and she is so smart and so talented!!

I had to include a picture of my good looking Mom.

This is her on Christmas Day making breakfast she is the best Chef!

I guess I would have to say that I owe all my political hopes and dreams to her!

A Proud Aunt.

My niece is so stinkin' cute!!
Last night Abe and I went over to my parents house for Sunday dinner and my niece "read" to us the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do You See?" Ok, yes she is only three and while she knows her ABC's and her numbers she doesn't "really" know how to put the words together just yet. So anyway she read us the story through her memorization method.
The point is ... kids these days are so smart and I loved every minute of her "reading" to us. I guess you could count this blog as an Aunt doing some bragging, but why not... it's what they're supposed to do!
I inlcuded a picture of her and me from my wedding, one of my favorites from the blessed day.

First Christmas as a Married Couple!

I know it's already January and yes it is well into the month, but being that it was our first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs. Johnson I wanted to post some pics of our tree, decorations and us on Christmas Day. I love Christmas... the smells, the food, the friends and family and the presents aren't too bad either :)
